Videoconference @ the British Council

The "Be a graduate in UK for a day!" video-conference is an event in partnership with the British Council, as a component of its Quality Assurance for Higher Education project, which will take place on 31 March.

The videoconference will gather undergraduate as well as postgraduate students who are interested in studying in the UK in the near future. The purpose of this project is to bring together students from Romania and officials from the UK in order to facilitate the information transfer. Through this project we hope that there will be an increase in the number of Romanian students who decide to apply for a quality master degree in UK.

The video-conference will take place at the British Council between 12.00 pm and 3.00 pm.

The topics discussed include:

  • the most popular study domains in the UK
  • financing opportunities
  • integrating foreign students in the UK's Universities
  • problems that appear in collaborating with foreign students - UK Universities
  • enhancing students employability
  • admission requirements
  • different types of universities in the UK
  • the British Council`s approch to internationalising student experience

Bear in mind that there will be a limited number of places and that this is a unique opportunity to speak to one of the people in charge of admissions at the University of Reading, Lauren Sharman, Senior Student Recruitment Officer.

The British Council is the United Kingdom's international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities, connecting people worldwide with Britain’s creativity. The British Council’s activities - whether in the arts, education, English teaching, science, sport, or climate change - nurture greater trust and understanding between different countries and cultures.

”The University of Reading is just a short walk from the town centre of Reading, which lies 60km west of London in the county of Berkshire. We are very well connected, being 25 minutes by public transport to the heart of London and Heathrow airport. The University of Reading is an established ‘red-brick’ university, ranked as one of the top 200 universities in the world. Our beautiful campus houses international students from 117 countries worldwide which accounts for around 20 per cent of our total student population. We make every effort to ensure all students living away from their home country receive a warm welcome and the network of support helps them to settle into University life.”
